Hi. I’m Gordon Houtman.

I registered this domain “houtman.net” many years ago. I’ve never done much with it.

But I’ve worked at different places, run into a fair share of trouble and joy. So now I’m just free-associating, writing a missive to the world, when I owe my mom a letter, by a ratio that’s probably about 100:1.

I live at Bolling Brook Condominiium in Alexandria. At least for now. Our board of directors, at the direction of the unit owners, has a broker looking for a developer to buy the property from us.

I accepted Islam several years ago. People at my mosque (that’s masjid to the Arabic-speaking world) gave me a free trip to hajj (in Mecca, Saudi Arabia). That was a rich experience. I have a lot to be grateful for.

That’s enough for now. Time to get back to housework, and write a (paper) letter to my mom and dad.
